Florida Healthy Kids Reminds Parents to Prevent Cavities in Kids

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Center for Pediatric Dentistry estimates that 40 percent of American children have a cavity before they enter kindergarten, but February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, which offers Florida families a timely reminder to stay ahead of dental decay by scheduling regular dental treatments. Nearly five percent of Florida high-schoolers have never been to the dentist, according to the Florida Department of Health’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey, a figure that has grown higher in recent years.
