Hurricane Irma Premium Payment Deadline Extension

Florida KidCare understands that Hurricane Irma may have impacted families and their ability to make their payment for October coverage, so we are extending the payment deadline until October 31, 2017.

To have this deadline extension applied to their payment, families must call 1-888-540-5437 (Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) and ask to speak to a representative.

To ensure continuous coverage for their child, families are encouraged to make their payment as soon as possible. Once the premium payment has been received and the child’s health plan has been notified, the child will be retroactively covered for the entire month of October. Those who use services in October before a premium payment is made may be required to pay for the services directly and submit a reimbursement claim to their health plan once the premium payment is made.

Families should also remember to make their October premium payment for November coverage by October 31, 2017.

To qualify for the deadline extension, families must live in one of the counties designated by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) as eligible for individual assistance: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Collier, Columbia, DeSoto, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lafayette, Lake, Lee, Levy, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Nassau, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Sumter, Suwannee, Union, and Volusia.

We hope this deadline extension will provide some relief to Florida KidCare families during this time of recovery. For any questions, please call us at 1-888-540-5437.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why did I receive a phone call and/or letter stating I have until the end of October to make a payment for October coverage?
We have been contacting families who have not yet made their premium payment for October coverage and who live in one of the 48 counties designated by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) as eligible for individual assistance because of Hurricane Irma.
